Meetings...
We
hold two Open Forum public meetings per year, at which we debate planning
issues affecting the town and its environment. These have been held in The
Old Bell and latterly Dewey House (see Blue Plaques) but, as attendance
increases, we might have to seek a larger venue. The debate is initiated
from the Chair and normally assisted by a slide/PC projection of maps,
planning documents etc. We try to keep it as informal as possible and
minutes are not kept, but our Planning Officer keeps notes so that his
deliberations with the planning authorities can be informed by the
consensus of the meetings. All Open Forum and AGMs are accompanied by
convivial drinks, nibbles and - usually - a raffle. We try to keep it as
light-hearted as possible.
The Trust is managed by its Executive Committee (see Contacts), which
meets every two months (ish) at Dewey House. As a Registered Charity we
are required by law to hold regular management meetings at which issues
such as Finance, external contacts, strategy and governance are discussed.
It is quite heavy stuff, not normally of interest to members. Nonetheless,
we invite members to attend if they wish.
Minutes of the Executive Committee meetings will be posted on this page
from now on, so that members and the public can see what we are up to. The
Press are welcome to make use of them. Queries concerning the minutes
should be addressed to the Secretary.
